It sounds like it should be a thing - if I google it, I will probably find out it is a thing.
Anyway, I'm back to tackling things in month-long chunks and this month I'm eschewing alcohol, which means giving up my evening glass or two of box wine. (It's usually Trader Joe's box wine, or Black Box when I'm feeling fancy.)
I want to have nothing standing in the way of this month's primary objective: hardcore work on the book I'm trying to write about my struggles with overcoming hoarding. I started it at the beginning of summer and am not making the progress I'd like, due to some external challenges and some good old-fashioned laziness.
The stressful stuff has been an excuse to have a routine relaxation glass+ at night. I don't have a moral objection to alcohol itself, but I do not want to turn it into a crutch that helps me cope with problems instead of bringing them to the Lord, which is sort of how I wound up hoarding before.
So with the aims of making more deliberate use of my evenings and rolling out of bed at 5:45 in the morning to have a book draft done by Halloween, here's to Sober October! :-)
