I had a slap forehead moment this morning when I realized I don't need the clock at all! Here's my bedside table - can you see why I don't need it?
You can't because I'm using it to take the photo - my iPhone. I set it on the table next to me every night, so I can use it to check time if I wake up in the middle of the night (rare these days) and it has alarm clock functionality. Yes, I should have realized that a while ago.
Ta-da. The baby monitor will be retired shortly as well, because Henry can come get me if there's a problem in the room the boys share.
I've been making it a priority to keep surfaces clear, and while some, like the kitchen peninsula, have been an ongoing struggle, this table has proved relatively easy after the initial clean sweep. It just took me a little longer to rethink what I used to consider a necessity (clock) - iPhone #minimalistsbestfriend strikes again!
It's too dark to see, but the shelf underneath holds an extra pillow I lean against when reading in bed, my PJ's, and a stack with a magazine, O'Henry short stories, and my Kindle.
